Being a Vibe Guy

On TV the other day I heard a someone refer to themself as a 'Vibe Guy'. Which was the equivalent of what the English would call a 'merry-andrew'. A joker. Someone with no thought other than how to have fun. Filmatically, he would be Eric Stoltz's character in Say Anything. A too old, clueless, party animal who thinks they are plugged in. But are more likely the answer to the Monday morning question, 'who knocked themselves unconscious Friday?'

While unconscious is a good state for a number of people, I am not sure doing it intentionally by skateboarding off a roof onto a trampoline is cause for applause. It might be cause for an ambulance ride. Or later life in-vitro treatments. But usually it is the sort of thing you see on Jackass, with a large warning lable plastered across it.

I am sure everyone knows a 'vibe guy.' And I bet most of the people who come to mind hail from your high school years. For some reason vibe guys seem to wilt upon graduation. Or maybe they just go work in factories. Or get lost backpacking across Thailand. Where they took the road with the big sign that said 'don't use road.' But one thing is for sure, the older you get, the less often you encounter them.

Tasha only when you're loading Christmas trees into the back of a cab!! (in a completely rational and sober state of course)

Tash,

I am going to use a story to illustrate an answer to your question. Last night I called to see if you wanted to do something, you said, and I quote, 'I am going to settle onto the couch with a blanket and a good book.'

I think I might be a "Vibe Gal". Not on purpose though. I am naturally a clutz (even sober). I should soon be on an episode of "Scared"
