Its About the Beer, Stupid!

This weekend we went to see Broken Lizard's new movie, Beerfest!

Broken Lizard is a comedy troupe who have been making movies over the last few years in a very similar vein to South Park, though a bit more restrained, if that is possible. But don't kid yourself their movies are funny with a capital F.

Mark and I own both of their previous movies, Super Troopers and Club Dread. We watch them often and laugh our asses off. These movies look like stupid slap stick sludge, but are actually very clever and improve with repeat viewings where you pick up on all the little in jokes and innuendo. Don't be decieved by the DVD cover, Adam Sandler wishes he had made movies this smart and riotous in the last few years.

Beerfest is no different. It seems to me that there are very few 'funny' movies released that are, actually, well, funny. Beerfest is one of those. I laughed through the whole movie, thought the bad German accents were hilarious, didn't mind the gratuitous nudity and even felt like having a beer after the movie ended. I'll drink to that.
