Have you noticed that we seem to have a girth of zombie movie available to us? So much so, that they have started to break them down into sub-genres? Gone to the rubbish heap is the conventional Zombie movie. Now what we want our Zombie movies to have humour (Shaun of the Dead), friendship (Fido), romance (Day of the Dead with Sarah Polley). Sure there are still those who want the evil dread of no escape. Others need a movie with at least a few glimmers of hope (28 Days Later, I am Legend).
But have have you ever wondered why we seem to be so fascinated with Zombies? Is it fear of death? A desire to live forever? If so, why not watch Highlander? At least that had swords.
