Finally, I am able to run again. Stupid Clueless Dr.

Went for a run today and it was great. I haven’t been able to run for two months because my quack of a Dr. told me that I had injured by Achilles and needed to take time off. Well I took it off and it didn’t seem to be getting better. So I and had it massaged, and stuck with needles in it and still nada.

‘You may not be able to run again’, my acupuncturist said as he worked on it for the third time. I felt like crying.

Those of you who run know what I am talking about. It is the easiest exercise in the world to do. All you need is a pair of runners and out your door you go. You can run anywhere, anytime. If I wasn’t going to be able to run again, I just didn’t know what I was going to do. Well, I needed to do some exercise, so I got a personal trainer. She kept saying that it seemed strange that it wasn’t getting better, because it never hurt or interfered with our workouts. She pushed be to go see my chiropractor.  Finally, I did, and guess what? It wasn’t my Achilles. My arch is collapsing and putting strain on two inner calf muscles. He’s worked on it twice and the swelling is almost completely gone. Thank god, because to get at those muscles he practically needs to drive his fingers through my calf. It is very painful.

However, I think it is time to get a new doctor. Telling someone they have an Achilles injury that isn’t an Achilles injury smacks of malpractice. Plus, she won’t give me a referral for a mammogram, suggested I go to see a psychiatrist rather then fill a long standing prescription that I have (um, did that, didn’t help, maybe education yourself before making suggestions that could be taken as insulting), and now I have found out she has moved to a new clinic. She must have lost my number, because the first I heard of it was the ad in the paper welcoming her to her new place of work. What is it with doctors today, couldn’t they even pretend that they give a shit? No wonder I worship my Naturopath.
