Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre is an UNESCO Heritage Site. It is comprised of 5 beautiful towns along the coast of the Mediterrian. They are all connected by a lovely pathway.

We walked the first section, which took about 10 minutes & had lots of places to stop & explore.

As well as interesting things to see, the trail is called: The Trail of Love, so all along it are hundreds of locks, meant to represent eternal love.

These pictures are of the last of the 5 towns, Vernazza. All the houses, in each of these towns, are built into the hills. Lots of stairs.

I took a lot of pictures, but especially liked this nice water feature on the way to the harbour.

Vernazza also has a very colourful & rustic harbour, with lots of shops & restaurants.

I LOVED the Cinque Terre... however, I don't recall the path being lovely past the first section... the rest was damn hard! But maybe we did the top route.... Your pictures are bringing back so many wonderful memories!
