When Trash was Truly Trashy

OMG! Do you remember the book, Lace by Shirley Conran? I remember reading this when I was about 14. Do you remember the goldfish scene? Like that would happen, but I was a tween and open to everything. The book was classic trash. It was the sort of trash that Jackie Collins' books aspired to be.

Then they came out with the TV Miniseries and it was HUGE. Of course, this was in the early 80's when all miniseries where must watch TV, thank you Roots. Below is a taste of the cheesy goodness that was the miniseries. I thought it would be nigh on impossible to find, but believe it or not, you can watch the entire miniseries on, in 25 ten minute segments! F#ck do I love YoutTube and the Internet - thank you Internet!

This was the classic scene they advertised the movie with it was tres risqué for the time. The use of the word 'bitches' was so damn brazen, and edgy. I mean you had to watch the minisereis, you had to find which one of these bitches was her mother. How could that happen? You suspected it had to do with illicet sex, or at least you really, really hoped it did.</a>" />
