Well, whenever I have this fantasy, what I wish for tends to change a little. When I was younger it was all complete selfishness, the big three: thin, beauty, money. Pretty simple, hun? Tell me you didn't ask for the same thing. Oh, you lie!
Well, now that I am older, I feel morally accountable even in my fantasies. So last night while I was playing through this scenario in my head I started to think , 'alright, if I make two really good, unselfish wishes, no one will think less of me for using wish #3 to do something totally selfish, would they?' Of course not!
Please be aware, since I have read 5 Children and It*, I tend to make my wishes very specific so that I can't be short changed or have my wishes warped by poor wording. So here it goes.
1. I wish for there to be a cure found within the next year for: all versions of cancer, aids, heart disease, diabetes, obsiety, ALS, Parkinsons, MS, and Alchoholism.
2. I wish for the following countries to find peace and prosperity in the next 2 years (then follows a long list of African and Middle East countries, of which I am always worried I will forget one desperate one).
3. I wish to win the lottery, of not less then 7 million dollars in the next 3 months. (money trumps beauty and thinness, as money can just about buy you those today with plastic surgery).
But enough of my strange wishes, what would YOU wish for?
*Editors Note: If you have not read 5 Children and It, by Edith Nesbit, you might as well be dead.

HMMMMM. .. . Well, I'll have to have at least two altruistic wishes now or I'll look like a selfish bee-atch.
Wish 1. I wish that poverty in the world comes to a peaceful end because those who have 'have' finally decided to share with those who 'have not'.
Wish 2. I wish that that people really did treat people the way that they would want to be treated themselves.
Wish 3. 100 Million tax free and non-returnable Canadian dollars in my account for which no one asks: Where did you get that money? and/or why I am not giving them more since I have so much, and I don't want to be resented for it.
Seriously, maybe we need a lawyer to draft this up for us.
A lawyer, you are right. We should make sure that nothing hinky happens do to a weakly worded wish. I like the way you think!
