Notes from the Beach

Mark and I have been on vacation for almost a week now and we have noticed a few things about resorts, and international resorts in particular.
  1. Man floss: the frighteningly small speedos that men with giant beer belly's insist on wearing on the beach. As Mark said, 'that just isn't right!'
  2. Superman legs: the process of catching a really good wave, that whooshes you up enough that you can do the famous superman leg landing. One leg straight, the other bent at the knee. Now you're bobbing!
  3. International keyboards: wtf are all these symbols? And why is the @ sign on the Q button, and shift no where to be found?
  4. Iguanas: Mark has named the skittish one outside our door Gary, like you do. I have decided that the really big fat one by the restaurant is George, and his two wily friends, who seem like mob enforcers, Louis and Maurice. Mod enforcers of kitchen scraps.
  5. Portuguese corner: give good directions to your husband on how to find the Portuguese corner in the buffet. Especially, if you made a huge display over how good the sausage is. Be kind, everyone loves sausage.

Mark has swore off beach floss - sadly - but the names, well, they just come to us.
