Theme: Scooting Around

When you're 14 you aren't old enough to drive a car. And probably for the first time in your life you have a million places you have to be.

Public transportation is unbearable. Most 14 year olds can barely sit still long enough to watch the Surreal Life on TV, let alone sit through the extra time a bus ride entails. Only slightly more palatable is having your parents drive you. But only if you can be sure of having their presence minimized. Being seen with your parents could socially ruin you. You don't want people thinking you actually like hanging out with them. Therefore, the only thing to do is to get a scooter.

And you are so excited when you get it. Until. You realize your new conveyance doesn't actually go faster than a bus or even a very spry power walker. It also ain't so hot if you live somewhere cool. Snow and scooters being life long frenemies. And scooters can be very dangerous on gravel. Just ask my knees. They still shake everytime they see a scooter.
