What Ed Didn't Say

A really good reaction to Steady Eddy’s weak speech last night.

http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/Yedlin+Premier+missed+chance/2104358/story.html

And if you missed the snore-fest, find it here, http://premier.alberta.ca/speeches/2009_Premiers_Address.cfm

The only thing I could discern from the speech was: it sucks to be a civil servant (am I considered a civil servant? F*ck, I hope not) and, damn, am I glad I don’t work in health care (sorry, guys, but it doesn’t sound good).

I wouldn't worry too much about those of us in health care. There are plenty of other provinces/countries looking for nurses, and willing to pay us to get there. What I would be worried about is what is going to happen if you or your loved ones require care. If I manage to survive the lay offs that are rumoured to be coming I don't intend to stick around to help Ed and Stephen deal with the mess.

BTW, article in AHS Connect news paper October, 2009, reports Dr Duckett makes "$575,000" per year plus bonuses.
